nitirite at 3.0 is still deadly. W/C + Salt, and at this point, Prime (overdose) will help.

lower the pH **ONLY** if ammonia is present.

good luck

I agree with Hemi. BioSpira is one of the only things that will work quick enough to keep you from loosing more fish. A lower pH will keep ammonia from being so toxic. Those high Nitrite readings are really really bad, the kuhlis will go first they are really fragile. Nitrex or SeaChem Puregen would help you get over the hump. You will still have a rough week or two. Water changes every day of 60-75% dont gravel vac too hard or change medias. Just get doodies out and new water in.

Finally got the levels down. I did a large water change last night and checked it a little bit ago and tests looked good. I bought a 90 gallon today looks monsterous compared to what im used to. My friends who went with me tried talking me into a 55. I wanted the biggest tank I could fit the room I have. I cant wait till she is good to go. Hopefully I can avoid some of the problems I had starting the 29. I coundn't find prime at any of the stores I went to today. Only thing I found was called cycle. Don't know anything about it. But looks like the loaches will eventually be in a new home.

For loaches, a mature tank is best if you don't want to have lots of problems. Make sure you seed your new tank with biomaterial from the old one (Once it's healthy- and don't rush it!
Enjoy the planning stages as you set up the new tank and get it the way you want it for your fish. They will thank you and you will enjoy it for a long time.
books. gotta love em!

You could fishless cycle your 90 gallon so its all cycled over time.

All you need is pure ammonia (not stuff with scents/soaps/surfactants (spelling)).

I can point you to a good document. It could take 4 to 6 weeks though but no fish are harmed with this process ;). This is the document I used to cycle my 20 gallon. It was cycled to handle 2ppm of ammonia a day but you could get it to handle a lot more. http://thegab.org/Articles/FishlessCycling.html

Using Cycled media is an option especially if you don't add any additional fish and let the new tank catch up.[/url]

From everything I've heard from people on forums, the product called "Cycle" is basically worthless.

I see Bio-spira has been mentioned. I have also heard a lot of good about that product. If you do find it, it will be in the refrigerated section.

I put some of the water I took out of the 29 in the 90. I also bought some plants have no idea what kinds they are but they look cool. Figured I would try a few different ones and see what happens. I looked at a bunch of fish trying to see what I want in the future in the new tank. Besides the clowns im not sure what I want in there. My buddy keeps trying to talk me into a puffer. I told him no way even if he bought it for me im not willing to let my loaches get eaten. I sorta want larger fish in my 90 I seen a really neat looking fish I think it was a ghost knife. The guy at the store said it would be ok in a tank with the clowns. I don't trust him though. Hes the same guy that sold me the cycle and the dojos. I like the dojos but they should of told me they prefer cooler temps. One last question and im done babbling for the night. What is the best temp to keep the clowns in? Since I pretty much bought the new tank to house the clowns and a few other larger fish I want to have it where they like it.
