Mean maybe. Beautifule - for sure. I never really noticed before how beautifule this loach is. Really beautifule.

There will be some battles and if this chap is ripping bags there will be a few more. But the fact that he is out and the Eos is in the favorite cave is testamony that the Eos will remain boss. I had the same thing happen. My S. helodes was about 7+ inches too and he eventually gave up to the cantankerous 4.5 inch Eos.
