Would Enjoy More Loaches But Need Input

Folks:

0) I am easily the "new kid on the block here" and bearly know what I am doing with respect to loaches (except for some input previously from Blue and current input from Emma).

1) Thanks Emma for "all of your help here to me on the Forum getting me 'up and going'"!

The following is fragmented but:

a) I cannot find a photograph of Rivulus tenuis on the Forum.

2) I want to procure several groups of "distinctive colored loaches"

3) the Black Khuli Loaches which were discussed in a prior thread, the markings of which were very distinctive and which were purported to be available at PetSmart are but not at my local PetSmart due to constraints of various Petsmart distribution centers.

4) per 3) above I would prefer to purchase the loaches at a reasonable cost in lieu of the shipping costs associated with Internet purchases.

5) I have 3 adult Yoyo's and am raising 6 Sewellia lineolata.

Any new loaches which I procure will ultimately be placed (per my current facilities) in a 110G tall , community, soft water, planted tank with many rock and wood caves and holes.

Yall got any suggestions?

Hi Jones,

Welcome to LOL.

I would think better about having loaches on a planted tank. Most loaches uproot the plants. Others eat them or make holes on it´s leaves just for fun.

Anyway, 3 is a small group for most loaches. Try having at least 5 on groups.

the small botias & hillstreams should be fine in a planted tank. I have a few.

I think pangios are happier in a planted tank.

they're reasonably price but the shipping cost is steep (over night).
But it's worth the price for safe & happy fish.
