Barbs, yoyos, kubs

Post by Rocco » Tue Nov 06, 2007 5:53 am

I've been wanting to put a little red in my tank but I've been wary of barbs since they are fin-nippers.

Which one should I get that will get along with my yoyos/kubs that isn't overly aggressive?

rocco, my personal choice would be odessa barbs, they're colourful grow to2.5inches and are a peaceful addition to any tank.
and bud not all barbs are fin-nippers, i keep and have kept a lot of them,
the main culprit are tiger barbs.

Thanks. I was looking at rosy barbs or albino tiger barbs. I think I'll get the rosies. :)

Rosy barbs are good tank mates, but prefer somewhat lower temperatures. I have had them breed at the low 70s.

38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

Hey,
I keep Tiger barbs with my yo-yos. They fight amongst themselves all
the time, but never bother the yo-yos or Khulis.

cherry barbs don't generally nip fins. and they get along really well with clowns, striatas and upside down catfish as well.

I got me some rosy barbs. Thanks everyone. Those are the ones I've been eyeing and they are doing well.

Now all I need are striatas.
