Few pictures of my largest
Vaillantella maassi called 'Spot' cause of a little round 'spot' on the top of her head

. Had her(???) since last year.
She does have a few scar marks on the sides as you can see
someone added a fish they shouldn't have without asking

Excuse the glass scratch marks and the up-rooted plants (can't keep anything planted longer than 5mins with the horseface loaches) Anyway here she is

Nice deep proportions - she's a beauty.

She looks a bit gravid to me. Is the other one a male, or just young? Keep an eye on them two. Are they usually together much, or was this shot of them together because of the algae wafer?
I'm so jealous. I've been wanting 'dragon loaches' for years and have not yet seen any around here. I've toyed with the idea of ordering online, but have yet to get up the nerve to do it with fish.
Yup. I'm jealous. Badly. Really. REALLY!

Thank you
Shari Im not sure if the other one is male or not although Im going to assume it may be; Ive had them for the same length of time and they feed as aggressively as each other and you can see that 'he' is a lot slimmer than Spot.
They hang 'occasionally' but Spot has her own hollow bit of bogwood that no one is allowed to share; she will happily nip at anyone trying to enter of just swimming a bit to low-she does nip the cherry barbs eaisly on a daily basis-you would think that they would learn.
Last night when the pic was taken there was what Il assume to be aggression of the two
V.maassi, mainly Spot lining up her body and pushing her head against the other
V.maassi while they are side by side-I have always taken this as 'territorial' as the other generally moves away after 2-3 pushes. I think I put up a pic of this on another thread a while back of them doing this. I have never seen the younger specimens that I got from Emma's do this yet so who knows.
They are worth it if you ever come by them
