Welcome Plecoluver. It is not uncommon and I often observe it in my tank.
The pair spins for a while in the middle of the tank.
Nobody knows exactly what they are doing. It may be a hierarchy confrontation or else.
Whatever it is, it is very entertaining, isn't it?
There are more threads of this kind on this forum, I'll look for them

Mine too and they do that a lot in my tank as well as loachy-dance after a good water change.
I did notice one thing with my large male and female kubs after one water change. They were loachy dancing on the glass and the female had an enlarged dimple near her anal fin. Right about this time, the male was swimming next to her and chasing her around.
I didn't see any eggs though and I suspect that botia need something to spawn that we have not yet figured out. Perhaps its some mineral from erosion or runoff that triggers it? I'm just speculating.
