"Emperor" Loaches.

Good gravy. Now that is a cool fish for a loach. The subtle bronze/gold color on it is pretty cool. (I just saw it in a photo). It also seems to have a unique head.
Along with Kubotais, they are surely amongst the most good lookin' loaches around.
I probably couldn't get them though, seeing as I'm in Australia. (Though if I could-that'd be great). Knowledge on the availability and distribution of this loach is lacking. Any help here will be apreciated.

They have been exported only once, and availability was limited. Have a read up of the profile and you will see why collection is not easy.

wow now THAT is the kinda thing I was talkin' about? Like a 150 bucks a piece huh? Do you think its possible to order them in Australia, somehow..

I just re read the emporer thread and they really do deserve their regal name.
Directorate, as far as getting them into Australia, I doubt it. Not only does the species index mention mountain ranges and war zones, there is Australia's import restrictions. We are lucky that we have Kubotai's in a few select places. The only other Botia I know we have are Yo Yo and Clowns (Sids too but they are not Botia any more). You could consider lobbying the Department of Primary Industries or writing to your Federal MP.

Oh cool: I didn't know that Kubotais were that precious in Australia. Hmmm lobbying the Departments of primary industries and federal MPs.. Now that sounds fun.
