strange behaviour?

Post by poeticpyro » Tue Apr 25, 2006 11:19 pm

is it normal for a clown to wedge themself between the tank's glass and the heater? i've never seen the little thing do it, kind of worrying me. it's breathing normally and doesn't have any white spots or any discoloration, it's the darkest and largest of the four. all water perams are normal...

Does he have anywhere else to hide?
Mine have tunnels & tubes to hide in, but still like to "stack" themselves behind the powerhead sometimes
Of the hiding places for him, try to have it/them not much bigger than his body width/height... They seem to like a "snug fit"

there's a castle (huge that has little caverns and all) and then there's a small bridge down front. i could put the smaller mountain/waterfall in back, but i don't know. i want to let them have enough swimming room. it's just odd because he/she has never done this before, and i don't want him/her to be sick.

Why do you keep starting new threads about your loaches behavior? I asked you earlier in the other one if you had caves for them and you haven't answered there. It makes things confusing. You should stick to one thread about strange behaviors. You've made like three of them within the past few days.

more than one thread...why? are you kidding?
they're not all the same loach, yes they're in the same tank and if you've been reading them closely they're different. one's pale and skinny, the fatten me up goes for all loaches since i do have two smaller ones anyway who are thin and then this one is for an older clown that's just acting beyond weird. if i put them all under the same title people won't read it all or they won't answer all of the questions... how do i know this? because i've tried it i don't know how many times. maybe i wasn't lucky with who as on, who knows. it's not confusing... they're all different clowns. i thought it would make it easier. something is going on in the tank. and i'm worried to death because i love them more than anything and i have completely bonded with the one who has the oddest behavior now... sticking itself between the heater and the glass... the yo-yos were doing it lately too... i don't get it.

In my own defense, its not that I didn't understand what was going on in your tank or that there was more than one loach involved in your problems. It was that I thought the problems are all connected, all being in the same tank and all happening at the same time, so why not talk about it all in one thread? I didn't mean for you to get offended, I was just a little frustrated that things were so strung out that it was difficult to help you, since you'd drop the old thread before answering questions or implementing suggestions you'd been given. Even now, I'm not sure where to post as I can see that you have made yet another thread saying that the large loach died and it was due to parasites. I'm sorry to hear about that. :( I decided to post here since you seemed so upset with me in this one. May your loachy friend rest in peace, and may the others have an excellent recovery.

thanks, i'm sorry i got so offended, it's just i'm freaking out. the loach that died was the one described on this thread, which is why i opened a new one since i wanted to know if it could have affected all loaches in the tank... i'm still not sure as to what the hell is going on, and the loaches are eating more and more now, especially bloodworms so i'm going to keep shoving those down their little bellies. they're eating the shrimp pellets, but they're not as interested, is there such thing as getting picky randomly? i know the puffers do, but i don't know about loaches. i have a 4th loach again, got him today, feel bad, but he/she's out ALL the time with the other scrawny baby, which now has a pot-belly! the tank is under parasite medication and the stool now looks the way it should.. good sign? i don't know... i hope so and i'm sorry for all of the confusion... i got a better turnout and more people seemed to acutally read the responces, unlike times before... thanks so much though, and i'm sorry that i got so upset, like i said... it's my first loach death... and it hurts badly.
