Lazy Loaches

Post by md4072 » Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:05 am

I've had three new golden loaches in my 30 gallon tank for about three weeks. They seem very healthy, good color, good appetite, etc. However they NEVER move unless disturbed by another fish or if some food falls right in front of them. Is this behavior common? I was under the impression that loaches were an active fish. Could they be sick or just getting used to their new environment? All comments welcome.

Thank You

That seems a lot like typical.. lets scare my owner, loach behavior.

I think as long as they are eating ok and not losing weight.. they should be ok.

Hi md4072,

Which species of loach do you have? Are they golden weather loaches or something else? Have a look here if you are unsure: http://www.loaches.com/species-index
