Where to find loaches
I live in the Gaithersburg MD area, about 30 miles from DC. I have been trying to find a fish store that sells other loaches besides clowns ie. yoyo loaches. Does anyone know of a fish store in my area that carries several varieties of loaches?

Prices
Do you have any local fish clubs? They know where to get fish.
Sids are $17 here in Tampa.

As long as you don't mind going around the Beltway and over the river, you could try Annandale Super Pets. According to Google Maps, that's about 35 minutes from Gaithersburg. You could call ahead during the week to see what they have in stock. Wouldn't try on that on the weekend, though, as they are busy & less willing to go check the numerous tanks for what's in stock.
I've gotten some good loaches there in the past, though it's an hour+ drive for me, so I don't go there often.
There was a nice shop with healthy loaches in the Wheaton/Silver Spring area in the same shopping center as a Lotte oriental market, but I can't remember the name and can't find anything that matches up with the location of the only Lotte I can find online in that area. Not very helpful, I realize, but you might be able to find them with a bit of exploring.
I have far better luck getting a great variety of healthy fish from Frank's Aquarium than from the local places, though. http://franksaquarium.com/
Best of luck. I was surprised at how difficult it's been to find decent fish in the DC area.
