This is a very bad pic of one of my new gastros. I have had a very difficult time getting shots of them. I have another larger one with the same kind of markings. I am thinking these are zebrinus.
I hope to get better pics of both of them soon.

Graeme;
Don't you have some similar to this or is it Mad Duff?
I hope Martin comes along with his opinion as to whether this is zebrinus or not. You there, Martin?

I have similar Gastromyzons which has been ID as zebrinus. Trying to get more but these are rare, beautiful fish.

Hmmmm. Mine does look different than your zebrinus. I am confused.

By the way, those are great looking gastros you have there.

How big are they Jim? They could be mature adults. Mine are still only around 1 inch TL. They never grow for me.

Same here, got some which look like Graeme's zebrinus too. The tail is amazing when flashing and the red sides. This is the fun thing with gastros, sometimes you don't know what you have
The last one looks nice with yellow fins, impressive. Never seen one live.

The smaller of the two (pictured) is about 1" while the larger is about 1.25" . Of the pics I have seen, mine looks most like janma's climbing gastro. When I get a better pic, I may post it over at petfrd.

Just been looking at my old loach pictures and i did find this. I'm pretty sure i found this chap in with the
G zebrinus. Does this ring any bells? Looks similar! This poor chap dead shortly after i purchased him though.

Looks more like mine than zebrinus, but not quite the same.

The snout on mine is blunt and squared off, not rounded like yours.

Certainly a contaminant then of all sorts. Same with Janne's.
Interesting.
