Nice fish, Graeme. I think you will really like these guys.
Wait until you see what they do when bloodworms or brine shrimp are put in the tank.

The local LFS had something similar today but had them marked as common plecos. They never even realized that they looked different.

Lovely additions, Graeme!

I particularly like this species. They have remarkable colour change capacity depending on what they are resting on. Very quick to grab frozen food too - do as Jim suggests but don't blink or you'll miss it!

Thank-yous!
I must admit that these are quite characters. Are "females" more pale? Or is it just there chameleon ability's?

I think we had a discussion on this a year or so ago, but didn't come up with anything definite. Some specimens have a lot of red colouration in the pectoral, pelvic, and even the caudal fin, plus red tubercles. I'm not sure if any direct comparisons were made with body shape vs. colouration etc.

Nice looking specimens Graeme. Love watching these "hunters" feeding.
They really do deserve the "lizard" or "gecko" monicker.
Martin.
