Botia striata

Unless someone says that I am screwed up here I anticipate ordering seven Zebra Botia from

as well as several other fish?
Mark's article indicates slightly acidic conditions are preferable but my Ph is typically 7.0 and does vary from 6.5 to 7.5.
Will this be a problem?

I have mine in 6.8-7.4 and they are fine. Their tank has diy co2 and this doesn't bother them at all... it's better not to mess with ph and try to keep it stable (though my co2 lowers it a bit). I find them to be quite hardy and happy with weekly water changes in my planted 55.

Will be a little while unfortunately as I just became aware that I have a week long road trip week after next and I do not believe that my away keepers can deal with fairly new fish.

Mine are in a 100 usg community tank at approx. 7.8 ph at about 72-75 F. for last year or two with B. dario. They seem to be happy and healthy.
Be sure of your source. A friend just got 3 of some kind of loach but very definately not B. staita.
