:P Firstly, hi to all the members, I've just discovered this site and glad I did its fantastic. Now, I have a problem, I have six clowns, four are around 2inch and two around 4inch, one of my larger is obviously suffering from CWS although he's still eating well and swimming around happily but he's now so thin I could just cry looking at him. I've read the article on Levamisole Hydrochloride and can't get it for love nor money, one vet said she would order it in but it would take a week plus she wanted me to bag the fish and take it to her (I'm thinking about the stress that would cause) although she admits I probably know more about the illness than she does, is there any other way of getting this treatment and could anyone tell me, is this illness likely to spread to my other loaches. Any help and advice plzzzzzzzzz

Hi KARGOW, and welcome to Loaches Online. :D

If you are having difficulty sourcing Levamisole, you could try an alternative treatement - Flubendazole. Many of us here have had great results using this product. It is the main ingredient of Wormer Plus by Kusuri which is sold through Plymouth Discus. Here is a link - they have an online shop and a shop on eBay, and different pack sizes are available: http://www.plymouthdiscus.com/drdiscus.html

Hope this helps,

Emma

Also can go to the farm supply or dog-oriented pet shop and snoop around on the "Wormer" shelf. Read the back. Many of them are based in Levamisol though the trade names are different. I guess it tastes nasty as it tends to be in a sugar-syrup, which is not so good for fish.
