I saw some Butterfly Plecos in the store for $8 each. I never see these fish in the stores.

I have a heard of Horsefaced loaches, and I know they need to go into a larger tank. I think they may be dwarfs, because I have about half that are about 2". My others are the larger ones at about 3-4 Inches.

Would it be possible for me to set up a long shallow tank with a smooth sand substrate, small round (inert) stones, add a filter and powerhead and keep the temp about 77'. Could I put the Acanthopsoides molobrion and the Beaufortia leverreti kweichowensis? And can you have large Beaufortia leverreti kweichowensiswith small ones? I have seen them in the stores at about 3/4 inch and 2.5 inches. Can you put those together?

I did read the species descriptions for both. It appears temp is the biggest problem.

I think temp is the issue. I generally try to keep fish in a tank at the middle of their tolerance range for temperature. This way if something happens and the tank gets a little warmer or a little cooler the fish are still within their accepted range.
Trying to keep 2 species with such a tiny overlap of temperature tolerance makes you walk a tightrope of temperature maintenance. Not an issue when things are going well, but you will have dead fish if even a small problem crops up. The fish are being maintained at the extreme edge of their comfort zone, too, which makes me uneasy.
