A rubidipinnis?

Post by mickthefish » Tue Apr 29, 2008 3:44 pm

here's a pic of one of my rubi's?, TDO is going to look at this and tell me if the name is right.
according to fishbase the dorsal rays that are branched should number 18-19, whereas mine only have 11-12 rays yet everything else fits the name.

Ayyup Mick

I think it is a A. rubidipinnis. According to Kottelat they have 14-15.5 branched dorsal rays. Hard to count for definite but looks like yours has 14.

There was a lovely A. rubidipinnis on the show bench at Ryedale AS on Sunday but it had Acanthocobitis zonalternans on the name tag

I got away more or less straight after the auction and forgot to go back and see if the true identity had been pointed out.

You're welcome Mick.

Hi Mad Duff - I pointed out the true name and it was altered on the label (I was judging, albeit another class). If I had known you were there I would have introduced misen.

I wondered if you would be judging or not, I was going to ask but didnt get round to it :(

I will be at one if not both of the Yorkshire shows @ Stickton on the Forest so if you are ther we will have to meet up then.

I may even make it through to one of the Castleford auctions :)

Yeah I will be there for both. Just look out for the dark hooded robe and dark cloud following me around (failing that ask someone to point me out! )

It would be nice to see you at a CAS auction, wouldnt that be a bit of trail for you though?

Definitely rubidpinnis. The dorsal and caudal fins should colour up nicely. They're super fish.
Your vantage point determines what you can see.

Good, hopefully I will see you there. Please try and bring something to sell the both of you. If you do you can pre book a lot if you ring within the month prior to the auction date. The details are here:
