Look what I found at the bottom of the external filter on the river tank:
Another baby
Sewellia sp. 'spotted'! This one is already quite a size though, certainly the biggest I've found in the filter so far:
I held that bag up to the glass and put the ruler in front - I make it about 18mm TL.

That's a cute little baby Emma. The marking on the face remind me of certain frogs.

Hi Emma,
How could he get there? Swimming against splash fall?

Thanks guys.
Marcos - the
Sewellia sp. 'spotted' adults spawn into the water column - usually at the end of the tank where the filter inlet is situated - and sometimes the eggs get drawn in and develop in the filter (it's an Eheim Pro II 2028). I have found numerous
Sewellia fry in this way.

Sometimes they are at the very bottom, underneath the media trays (like this one was) and other times they have made their way up into the first or second trays and are hiding amongst the ceramic media!
