Well, update on the skinney one, anyway
I am please with the weight gain this guy has had. You all mentioned he needed fattening up when I got him.
This is what he looked like when I got them (pic taken March 25th)
Here he was on May 5th
And here he is playing Peek-A-Boo
I WANT MORE

Love these guys to pieces.

Looks more like he's playing "I'm the MTS with the eye".
Lookin' way better than when you first got him.

A definite improvement!

I just love Horse-faced loaches, I can see why you want more.

Thanks, guys

:)
One of the more silver ones, I got very concerned about. I didn't see it for about 3 weeks.....not a single sighting. Then all of a sudden, he's out constantly

I guess he was hibernating
Yep, love these little characters

They look lovey - and I agree with you, they are so so cute. I have 4 all together and also lovingly call them my 'horsies'...
I started off with 2, one of which unfortunately didn't make it through quarentine then bought another 3 this weekend just gone! My latest ones look like your first photo (If not worse) and definitely need fattening up still, so lets hope mine look as good as yours soon!

Just wait untill they grow more. Here's one of my Adults. Just over 6 inches and very greedy!

Wow, that looks like one very happy horsie! I remember seeing a picture of yours a while back with one of your horses in the sand poking his head out! I love it when they do that and they look so comical as they dive in too.
The bigger one of the 3 new ones I bought has already started putting on a bit of weight, and one week on they all look really healthy still, so hopefully they will continue to do well.

what's your secret? I was so thrilled today, when I saw ~ 1/4" of one my 4+" horsies. I don't think i've seen the whole fish since I moved them into the tank. Great pictures by the way.

Figured I'd resurrect this old post to do another update
It's been another month or so, and my Horsie is getting FAT

Well, nothing like Graeme's, but much nicer then before
Here's a couple new pics.
This gives you a bit of size reference with the Rummynose. Doesnt' show his fat tummy the best, but....
THERE'S that tummy
The other one is still much more skittish then this one, but I suppose it could be the type??? They are differently marked and colored, so I assume I have two different types anyway

Lovely fish guys

, I was wondering if they are ok with Clowns or better with smaller species like Dario or Sidthimunki ?

Mad , mine are good with anything. The smallest fish I've had with my larger horsies are juvenile rasbora espie (think 3 week old guppies). They don't seem to interact or even notice other fish.

Looking good!

You can see the start of the abdomen area becoming larger as he/she grows. More of the silver/white area's the better. As we can see.
Graeme.
