Can you id my loach please

Hi, i was given this loach along with a load of other fish when I bought my last tank but i'm not sure what it is. Can anyone help please?

Looks like a Dojo (Weather) loach to me, but wait for someone with more loach experience to answer.

It looks like a Pangio (maybe oblonga) to me.

From the species list, does it look like a Pangio?

How big is it? Pangios often max out about 3-4". They like to have friends.

It certainly looks like a Pangio sp to me, the pic isn't that clear but I would hazzard a guess at ;

I agree with ashleigh, that certainly looks like panda kuhli loaches.

I know this is way off topic but I just wanted to mention the gravel in the tank is the very old style that is painted. It is peeling/flaking off and it would be a good idea to change out that gravel for some sand or more natural type gravel.
When I first set up a second hand tank, I was given gravel just like yours and I lost 2 bettas before someone told me the gravel was leeching toxins into the water and that was what killed my bettas. Soory for the off topic post, I just wanted to save some heart ache.

Excellent, thanks for all your help, it does look a lot like the panda khuli. Its about 2-2.5 inches at the mo. I have another tank with sand, do you think he would be better off in there? I did try to catch him but he wasn't happy about it and has sulked for the last couple of days!
Sorry about the pic, he ofter hides away and when he does come out he's all over the place and doesn't stay still for long!
Should I get him a friend? I'v not seen them for sale anywhere, does any one have any ideas what sort of lfs sells them?
Gravel: thanks for that info I will look into it! We've had the tank set up a good couple of months now and not had many deaths (been lucky me thinks!) Any ideas where I can get decent gravel for a decent price? There's an under gravel filter so need a fair bit to cover that.

Where are you? Are you in the US, Canada, UK, . . . that will help with finding gravel and fish.
What are the fish in the tank with the sand? He'll like sand much better if it smooth grain, has nice tankmates and similar water. Mine swim like mad when they are out. Usually up and down the tank sides in their loachy dance.
I could be wrong, but if you can't find his species, buy any Pangio (any type of Kuhlie). They all get along and like hanging together. I have five species together and they all hang out. I have a hollow piece of bogwood and you'll see the nose of a P. oblonga, a Kuhlie and eel Kuhlie loach sticking out together. Very cute. They all dance together, sleep together, eat together. . .

I'm in the UK - Herfordshire.
I know where I can get some khuli loaches (the brown and orange ones) but would be really nice to have another panda - he's such a character - and is still in hiding from trying to catch him before!

At the moment it has plattys, two rams (not ideal conditions i know but they are still alive!) a bristlenose plec, an iridecent shark and there may be some painted swordtails going in there too. There are also 6 clown loaches but they may be going to another home.
