hi all i bought these fish last year and since then iv'e got some more of them, they were sent as Nemachilichthys ruppelli but looking at the picin the ornamental aquarium fish of india they differ in pattern to the extent that i think they are another sp?.
see what you think, i know TDO gave them another name when he saw them but for the life of me i can't remember it.
anyways here's a pic of one of mine and the pic in the book for a comparison.
opinions please.
thanks

These are the same as the ones I picked up from Pier aren't they Mick?
Out of the 4 I got two filled out a little bit but two filled out a lot and I am certain these are females, if that is the case there was a lot of gravel and sand getting thrown around from under rocks last Wednesday night and one of the females is a lot less full bodied now.
I cant see any eggs under the rocks but I don't want to lift them just in case.

yes Mark theyre the ones, lets hope that they've spawned iv'e got big ones but iv'e seen no activity with them.
how many did you pick up?, ive got 16 of them.
i lost a few of them early on when the ph went below what was needed for them now it's adjusted so it never goes below 7, the ph was 6.2 when i lost a few.

I remember the words of
Nemachilichthys shimogensis being sung from either Andy or the
Dark One. Maybe a summons is in order....

I am summoned.....
Yeah, I told Neil and Andy that I thought they were more like N. shimogensis. There is a debate about whether N. shimogensis is distinct from N. rueppelli, but to me they are slightly different. I might do an article on these at some point and do some more digging...
