three times (three, two months ago and today) I sent to Jeff contributions for Loaches online.

I never got an answer.

What's gone wrong?

I have more than 16.000 photographs of Cobitoidea, locality data, ecological data of hunderts of species a.s.o. (some included in my three books on loaches and endless articles as You can see here www.sach-fach.de). I think is no good way to post this material in a forum.

If you have digital pictures of your tanks you can post them using photobucket.com which is free. This is a very informal forum,and many of us like to look at pictures of other people's tanks.

I will certainly look at your links.

What are your favorite loaches? Do you own any loaches or do you research them?

I study loaches in tanks and south-east asia since more than 30 years. I have 19 tanks from 30 Liters up to 1,200 litres with Schistura, Homaloptera, Sabanejewia, Gastromyzon, Yunnanilus, Acanthocobitis, Pangio a.s.o.
Schistura notostigma, Lepidocephalichthys thermalis, Acanthocobitis urophthalma, Erromyzon sinensis and some more I have bred in tanks, Schistura cf. geisleri will do this in the next days.
In former times Jeff added some photos by me in the species list (e.g. Acanthocobitis), but it seems he's not very interested in more informations to update the website with informations from Germany.

Your website has some very beautiful photos of planted tanks- I only wish mine would turn out like that!

I too would love to see pictures of the loach species that you keep and also any information you would like to share, its always nice to hear other peoples experiences on keeping loach species that you would not normally find in your everyday LFS

I would be interested to hear of your findings in breeding Schistura or any other loach species

That's sounds great, I'm in good hope for my Nemacheilus ornatus pair, but the female isn't so fat as your geisleri female.

I have been in contact via e-mail serveral times with Jeff (Shafer) and so I was and I'm still confused to hear nothing from him. May be he's sick or something other bad things may be have happened.
Therefore I posted here with this concern.
You all must know, that I'm engaged in a german association called BSSW (what means Barbs Loaches Tetras and Catfish). You can see here:

I made book several reviews of Martin Thoenes and Loaches Onlines books in Germany to tell all people about this fine book, e.g. in print media and in internet, like this one: http://www.amazon.de/review/product/079 ... ewpoints=1 and in the magazine BSSW-Report.

One point of these review was: The book do not contain a lot of information available here in german language and so I contacted Jeff for a more intensive cooperation and I offered him such informations for the website.

Alas! He did'nt answer and I don't know why.

hope, that my english isn't to bad: I think it's time to stop this topic and not discuss why Jeff do not answer, and to go to the loaches facts. Therefore I will open a new topic. Loaches facts! Hiope my english isn't to bad.

Jeff's role on this website is as its technician. He has a life outside the loach forums, and is busy with other things. I don't think he is ignoring you - he may not have had the time to respond. He is not a rude person.

The rest of the moderators add to the site (photos, updates) as our spare time allows. You must remember that it is summer and many people may be away or have less time to devote to the site.

I'd like to hear how we could take advantage of your photos and other information. Maybe you could get in touch with the forum moderators personally?
