helloo. my friend recently tried to add clown loaches to his aquarium but it didnt work with others resident. so i am taking them. my question is: in good water conditions could these 4 clown stay in 50 litres tank for a while? i will get a bigger tank for them but i will need maybe 2-3 months to fix everything.i have an excellent filter and good water movement considering the size of the tank. so, can they survive in there for about 3 months or i am better to give them to someone else with bigger tank? i like them and wish to keep them but i need a while. thanks your so much for your help.

Hello Adem,

if they are not aggressive to each other, I would do it. You can give some plastic tubes in the tank so they have some hiding places. The tubes you can use in the bigger tank too, of course.

Good luck and welcome! You are from Albania?

50 liters is very small. If the Clowns are still very small, then go for it. If they are too big then I would try to give them a bigger tank as soon as possible.

Up to about 5 cm, OK in the 50 liter for a while (couple of months, and get the better set up going)
Over 5 cm, probably better to get something larger sooner (couple of weeks or a month), even if it is not perfect.

At these small sizes Clown Loaches can grow quite fast. You can treat them in the 50 liter for whatever parasites they may have, too. Then move them into a larger tank. Less expensive to treat in the smaller tank.

Hi adem,

Like Diana just said, baby Clown loaches can grow fast but for a couple months I´m sure they will do fine on this... let´s say... quarentine tank! 8)
Keep in mind they enjoy fast water flow and hiding places. PVC pipes are welcome. Driftwood and some rocks as well.

Welcome to LOL!
