Loaches Online Forum

I put the little Clown Loaches in the big (125 gallon) tank last night. This morning they are having a ball!
One corner is rather calm water, and they go up and down this corner a few times, then head out across the front at the top. They get caught by the flow from a powerhead and surf around in the flow, turning to head upstream to the quiet corner, then back for more surfing. They vary the surfing by riding it out the full length of the tank (6') or dropping out early.

I have tried taking pics, and the tank ends up looking black, no detail. I think the glare from the windows is shutting down the camera.

I have added more fish to the big tank, and each has explored it and the little Clowns are still out and about.

Stocking list so far:
(4) Senagal Bichers (Largest is about 4")
Assorted Endler x Guppy as feeders for the Bichers.
(4) Little Clowns (could not find the 5th one. )
(3) Larger Clowns (largest is 5", the other two are over 4", but not as big as the largest)
(1) Black Ghost Knife (8")

Still to be added:
(1) Discus. This is a mean one, and cannot be housed with my other Discus. Not really the right setting for him, but he will probably be fine.
(6) Barbus (Puntius?) filimentosus (These are 3" long already, and SO pretty!)

Probably will be overstocked when all these guys get to their adult size.

The Bichers were fun to watch as they explored. They would stand up on their fins and tip their head down to check out the substrate. Reminded me of a dog sniffing around.
Most of these are more nocturnal though, so I am not surprised that they have hidden behind some rocks.
