Hi!
I have 1 yo-yo and 1 clown which i suspect might be in the early stages of developing skinny disease. I have Flubenol, so I thought I would have a go at medicating. My question is: should I put the 2 loaches in a quarantine tank or should I simply medicate the whole tank? Flubenol isn`t harmful in any way and cathing the yo-yo is going to be nearly impossible

So what do you think? Quarantine-tank or not?

i've also got flubenol Marius, i would dose the tank they're in rather than stressing them out trying to catch them.
it won't do the other fish any harm.

Well, Flubenol didnt seem to do the trick
Next step is Prazi. I`m going to use quite a heavy dosage over a period of 14 days, so I have now moved the loaches over to a separate tank. (2 clowns and a yo-yo)
I`m a bit unsure as to how much food I should give during the medication-period. Something tells me that the loaches need quite protein-rich food to gain weight (if I manage to cure them), but how much should i feed during the treatment, and what would you say is the best food in this case?
I have, Mosquito-larva (red and white), brineshrimp, Krill, Mysis, and sinking pellets.

Any ideas?

Do you have an live foods to help entice them to eat during treatment?

No. (BTW, what do you mean by live-food in this case?)
They are eating as normal, so the problem isn`t that they won`t eat. I`m wondering what food is most nutricious in this case, and whether they should get normal dosage during medication.

Not because I`m impatient with you guys, but because I REALLY want to feed my sick loaches, and I`m unsure as to whether it`s a good idea

Rotate the foods you have. While some foods may be considered more or less nutritious than others, it really is more true that some foods are rich in one substance and somewhat lacking in others. By rotating the foods you are offering a more balanced diet. What one lacks the other supply.
Will they eat vegetables of any sort?

Good point about rotating. When I fed vegetables in the main tank, it seemed to go down pretty well. But of course I can`t pinpoint which loach ate what
But do you think I should feed normally during the medication?

I usually feed the normal foods, but I will add live brine shrimp and any small worms I can buy from the store. A little wiggle to get them eating well.

Shari told me that if they have internal parasites, the parasites become paralyzed during treatment, and can be a little difficult to pass. Or leave small wounds making it uncomfortable for the fish to eat, and the live food helps with that. This may not be your case at all. But just thought I would mention it. Shari may correct me if I am paraphrasing her incorrectly.

I`ll keep on feeding then. They seem to have theyre usual enormous loach appetite, so far...

Excellent. Glad they are still eating well. That helps so much to get them through any treatment.
