okay, here it is. i was gonna wait til i get my sewellias in but i couldnt resist. lemme know what you guys think!
sorry for the crappy pictures...

specs are:
20L Perfecto glass aquarium - back glass painted black
30" 36 watt Coralife t5 fixture over AGA glass canopy

23 pounds white silica sand
1 pound of river gravel
approx. 1/2 pound of Eco-Complete
a bunch of field boulders from a local stream and landscape center

Rena XP1
Koralia 1
Koralia nano

soon to be home to 11 sewellia lineolata

That looks great!
You might want to make sure that the suction on the Koralia pumps is not too strong for the fish. You don't want to find a dead sewellia stuck to the intake. Also, any fry you might get will most certainly get sucked in.
I have had that happen with cheni fry on a different kind of pump.

Tank looks really nice

I remember reading an article about covering your powerhead with mesh and such to prevent damage to your fish.
I think it,s somewhere amongst the articles.

Any lfs i enter asking for them results in staff looking at me blinkingly
Easy enough to get your hands on Beaufortia's sure enough.
But any Sewellia............., the search continues

Go to the articles section and look in "Water movement in the loach tank". There's some info on modification there.

yep! i saw that article. but i think i'll be using that plastic mesh stuff that people use for crafts instead of wire mesh.
i did think about how i would be able to use prefilter sponges to line the outside of the koralias as well.
and the sewellias are being purchased online - although i did see them in one of the LFS here for a time(they didnt look well).

so do they ship em out to The Netherlands aswell ?
and if so do you have an adress for me ?
Most Hillies in lfs are kept in horrible ways
I,d rather have a dependable online buy, risking the loss of healthy fish
then some fish kept in sad conditions dying on me some time after they got in my tank.

have you tried glasers in germany, they are dearer than normal but you can be guaranteed of well acclimatised healthy fish.

your welcome mate, i only thought of glasers because one of the shops i go to gets some of his fish from them, and they always look in great condition.

finally have some updates.
i got the sewellias in like 2 weeks ago. i lost two. im down to 9 right now.
i slipped on a sponge over the filstar intake and turned off the koralia nano. its still in there though - just too lazy to pull it.
anyways, enjoy. sorry about the quality of the pics.

Are my eyes deciveing me. But is that a 20lt tank? If so how many Hill-Stream Loaches could you keep in a long 20lt tank?
