Bombing my house?

Hi all,
Last night I started a topic asking for help (what else is new  ) because we have become infested with those tiny ants. We've tried the ant traps and spraying along the base boards, etc...it has only worsened, as we have had quite a rainy season. In short, we need to 'bomb' the house. When we fumigate, we usually have to wait 4 hours before coming back in & airing it out.

How do I protect the fish in the tanks? If I shut off the aerators and cover the tanks with plastic wrap...won't they suffocate in 4 hrs?

I want all conditions in the tank to be ideal before getting my clowns in Dec. Even waiting until we come back from a week of holiday.

If you can stick the air pump out a window then close the window hopefully the fumes will not be outside, and you are bringing in fresh air.
Seal the tanks with plastic such as garbage bags, and the slight overpressure from the air pump will keep the fumes from the house out of the tanks. Turn off the lights. You do not want the plastic touching the warm light fixture.

Put fresh activated carbon in all the filters and change it after the spraying, and perhaps one more change after 24 hours. AC gets full pretty fast and you want to make sure that it is removing any possible pesticide.
