Schistura cf. balteata temporarily turns black

Seems to be that time of the year ... Those two Schistura cf. Blateata were up to something. Normally both always look like the brighter one, it’s the first time I saw such a dark Cf. Balteata – it almost frightened me seeing her in that colour.
The brighter one tried to do some digging and there was interaction between the two. But the Garra literally went in between them frequently and stalked them through the tank, very annoying Garra didn’t let them do their thing in a relaxed way, must have tasted well, … no chance of any survivors with all the folks in that tank…

The alges belong there, the water stains not, sorry …
