Personally, i would say Botia histrionica.

From the ones I have Graeme the histrionica tend not to have the orange in the pectoral fins :?

It could also be the camera flash playing tricks on us. I also noticed that the Botia almorhae has a extra than normal tinge of colour on the pectorals.

Naw,

The last two pictures maybe but the first four are images of Hist's. (excluding the first with a small Ros above them)

me too. it's that gold/orangey thing they have going on. but my first thought was, "Histrionica!"

[not that I get into these kinds of discussions, usually. 8))

This image shows us the Rostrata above the the Hist's. The true Ros is much smaller and when they grow to the size of the other two i doubt the pattern will look like them.

Jpw - can you tell us how long you have had them and what you bought them as please :?:

Although i've not kept either of them, i first thought the exact same as Graeme, first 4 Histrionica and the last two looked like rostrata.

Lovely loaches whatever they are! :)

i can see where your coming from graeme, but i have both types of rostrata.
the twin bar is very close to the fish in these pics, it has started to get slightly different patterns inbetween the bars and this fish is 3 inches SL.
take a look mate.

Can of worms mate! (we've been there many times)

But can you see the typical one large bar system the Hist's have just under the Dorsal. Trade pattern from the old school Hist's.
