Alternate with a long list of vegetables, do not confine their diet to just one.

Zucchini: Slice very thin and microwave in a little water until the white part is no longer so white. Or, cut into chunks and blanch. Do not over cook, it will become mushy and fall apart in the tank. I remove it from the pot before the white is no longer white, and it continues to cook while it I am serving it.

Cucumber: Slice or cube and serve raw. If there are large seeds you might want to remove them.

Pumpkin, hard squash, yam: Bake until tender. If you boil, stop cooking before they are quite done.

Oranges: Slice thin and serve with the rind still on the slice. The fish like the same part we do, and the rind is good snail bait. Harvest the snails and toss them in any tanks with Loaches.

Peas: I start with frozen, and simply defrost. If you start with fresh, cook them. Pop off the skin. Start with half a pea per 2" of fish. If you find they really gobble them up then add more.

Green beans: Slice lengthwise so the tender inside is accessible. Pop the skin off the young beans inside, just like peas.

How much to feed is an open question.
With 800 gallons of water, 2 dozen tanks, Loricariads and many other vegetable eating fish in just about all the tanks I will serve half a cucumber or an equal amount of just about any other vegetable at least once a week, usually more often.

Please do not type in all caps; it is equivalent to shouting, and is difficult to read.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

Welcome sparky.

Can you tell us a little about your tank setup?

(and, yes, all caps is a no-no on forums. fine for emphasis, but considered as being deliberately obnoxious. 8))
