I decided to get rid of the old home made fish tank hood on the rivertank as it was holding to much heat and it was getting a bit shabby.

I shopped around and decided upon the new Arcadia classica luminaire with 2x 38w T8 tubes, it arrived yesterday and I fitted it straight away and I am more than happy with the results:




The whole light unit pivots back on its arms to give access at feeding times etc and at £139 it wasn't badly priced either

£139, were do you get all these bargins from. Always the one getting deals on fish

It makes a fair difference

it looks great bud, the amount of light coming of them tubes is really bright.

The tank looks really fabulous. I'm looking at an update on my R/T sometime this year. Get rid of the very heavy twin shoplights with 4 big old-school tubes and replace with something similar to what you now have Mark.

Most of these over tank units don't come with tubes so to be honest I wasn't expecting much from the ones that came with this one but they seem to be very good tubes and are the 38w classica natural tubes.

I was going to build a new hood martin and incorporate a 4 spot light unit in it but by the time I would have arsed about with it I am glad I got this instead
