when i went to BAS of Bolton i looked in one of their big show tanks,
there was a number of clowns that they had moved from their stock tanks, since being in their present tank their colour has changed completely.
here's the only decent pic i got of the best one.

sorry about the glass it was caused by little scrotums that masquerade as children. :x

Some nice whiskers on that loach. I can't believe the well-defined white lines.

What are the (ballpark) differences/parameters of the two tanks? Did the change bring this on or the new conditions? Would you consider these to be "happy" colours? They look stunning.
I'm hoping to take another try at Clowns when the world warms up. I've got the dark filamentous algae already. Might need to crank-up the current....

hi Andy, the water pars between the two tanks would have been different mate, when the fish were in the stock tank it was on the SA section and now they're in a tank i'd beat someone up for, 8'x4'x4' with a huge filtration system but if you notice i'm sure the rocks are tufa so the kh and gh will be pretty high mate.
every now and again they change the display tanks and i might put an offer in for the clowns that are in there.
that clown is around 8-9 inches SL the others very slightly smaller.

it's not mine mate, but no when the shop got them they were all the normal colour for clowns, it's only since they've been in the display tank that they've appeared.
