Here are a few recent pictures of the 300 gallon tank. The photography does not hold a candle to the best that we see on this forum, but I will continue to work at it. I now have seven clowns and they seem quite happy. They certainly are the fastest swimmers among the loaches that I have. They cover the tank in a flash at times. The striatas are hesitant with a stop and go movement (as Wolfram has pointed out). The kubs seem to lazily meander about almost aimlessly. The clowns are more focused, direct, and fast.
Clowns, striata, SAEs, scissortail rasbora, and brilliant rasbora.
fhm_usa- The clowns are quite small yet. Between 2.25 and 4 inches TL. I have had four of them for two months and I believe they have grown at least half an inch in that time.
moxiedesignz- That is a good question. I bought 10 of them, but the shop said that they had come in in two shipments. As Helen says, some of them are certainly kubotai. I suspect that some may be histrionica, but time will tell as their pattern develops. They have grown from 1.25 inches to 2 to 2.25 inches TL in two months.
I put it in the microwave for a short time to soften it up. I'm never sure how long is best, but it does not seem to really matter since they seem to like it. Overnight, they will eat off all of the small green tips.
