finally tried the loach food recipe with gelatin in it from the loach book.

i think i mixed it up wrong. i used the whole banana because i had a large piece of fish. anyway i substituted the cod with some local white fish. i may have needed to add a bit more spinach. anyway, maybe i needed more gelatin because it deteriorated rather quickly in the water when they started eating it.

it was so good it lasted all of about 20 seconds. all of the fish loved it.

i think next time im going to add a tad bit more gelatin to the mix. this mix made up 2 gallon ziplocks full of flat frozen loach wafers lol..

i also molded a few into the empty slots on my blood worm plastic containers.

plan to plop them in for dinner.

here is a short video fo them eating it.

Yeah, watching the video was highly informative. Definitely a case of too little gelatin. I've had it turn out like that too and now err on the side of caution and put more gelatine in the mix.

i believe it was my fault. i let the boiling water sit a little too long before adding it. and as the directions said, don't add too much. i think i added too much water so it became a bit more watered down consistency. will probably make a 2nd batch soon to test to see if this is what it is.

i know how much they love cucumbers. wonder if mixing that in would be beneficial?

the extra banana didn't hurt the recipe either. it was the water added.

thanks for a great recipe. didn't last long at all lol..
