Nemacheilus battle.

I caught two of these guys having a heated battle the other night. It's interesting to see their colouration compared to the others not involved in the fight. No visible damage was done.

These pics were all taken on a 1/2000 shutter speed but there's still some blurring due to the incredible speed of the fish. Difficult for focus too.

Most loaches get grey and patchy (and ugly) looking when they fight but these guys actually get darker and more attractive!

Absolutely brilliant pics of this wonderful and rarely seen loach !

Are the males starting to develope the extended top caudal lobes yet ?

great sequence of pics mate, it looks like two males having a do for dominance going of the tail Martin.
i have just one large male his to lobe of the caudal is getting longer i'm sure, but he's a gentle soul all the same.
