These are lovely, I bought some of this lot aswell, Neil had lots of fun picking me out some unusually marked individuals  Im surprised he doesnt hide each time I come in now!

I think the biggest I measured from mine was 12cm or just off it, also a few that have 'giraffe' markings :D They have been in with my clowns for the time being and so far been angels-all 13 of them.... who says 13 was unlucky :P

Hi Piggy4 did you ever uravel the yellow dario mystery...did you ever see any ?
Are they just a regional variant ?????

it's a regional variation mate, BAS have had them in not so long ago.
its just that the yellow bands are wider and very yellow, i have'nt seen a full grown to see what they turn out like, andy's more likely to have grown them on so wait for his answer bud.

btw thanks for taking care of my lad the other day, much appreciated mate. you have his custom forever now mate.

Hi Niel, not really as Mick says probarbly colour varients , different rivers different camoflage techniques ?

A lot of my thoughts were based upon Hamiltons original descriptions , he described B.dario and B.geto , but its since widely percieved that the Geto's were juvenile Dario's , it just seemed a bit odd to me because colouration aside Dario's have a pretty unique kind of look , for me the Dario head shape is like no other really , I suppose Striata is similar , but not the same and easy enough to tell apart !

The thing that is always in the back of my mind is that Hamilton described both Puntius Gelius and Puntius Caninus which are believed to both be just P.gelius , thogh to me Gelius and Caninus are distinct from each other ! so on that proviso perhaps there is a Botia Geto hiding out there
