new loaches

I went to BAS of Bolton yesyerday specifically to pick up the last four loaches in a tank, Andy Rushworth had checked them out against the description in Menons book and it fit, but i'm awaiting confirmation of another site i'm on just to be positive.
the loach is Schistura scaturigina, so far they are pretty well behaved and gluttons for any foods put in the tank, here's a couple of pics for you to look at.


but i also picked up the biggest Gastromyzon stellatus i've seen, it has to be 2+inch body size what happens to look like an injury near its gill is something the camera picked up as the fish is as clear as a bell as far as diease is concerned.

i've just had confirmation the the scaturigina aka victory loach is the genuine article.

I had two scaturgina several years ago and really liked them. They are one of the best of the large scisturas I have kept, in my opinion.
I had two in with breeding chenis and l. disparis and didn't have much predation on the fry if you can believe that.
The last one died a couple of years ago after living about 6 years.
Great fish!
They will, of course, fill out and get a more golden base color as you can see in this pic of one of mine.

already seen it Jim, and am very pleased to have them mate.
at the moment they're in a Q tank with S denisoni but they look clean except they needed a bloody good feed as BAS aren't known for good feeding habits.
the tank they're eventually going in has Y brevis and different Lepidocephalus with Rasbora dorsiocellata for dither fish.

Nice stellatus, I've had gastros with the same sort of white on them. It disappeared after a while, just some scratch

scaturigina are looking fine.
I have got 5 stellatus of that size lately, are quite dominant and all females. yours is as well if I see right? must go over my notices as I've read about the guess that females become bigger than males. a question also for borneosucker.
