Schistura cf. balteata

Hello all,
I was just wondering if the Schistura species is ok to keep with other loaches... ie. botia. Also... since they are territorial, should I still get a small group of them... or are they better to just live on there own (with other loaches not of same species). If I end up getting some they'd be going in a 55gal 4' tank with a river set up (lots of flow) with rock and woodwork.
Doin' some reasearch... thanx guys!

I've got 2 in a 75 with asstd. botias and I've had no problems. They chase each other around a bit but nothing serious.

on this subject here's another type of balteata to throw in the mixing pot.
me and Andy saw these yesterday, they look like a halfway house between the two known species, they have the bars and a spotted dorsal but their base colour is pinkish.

but going back to what you asked although they are terretorial as long as the tank is large enough and has plenty of bolt holes they should be fine.

I think the more pertinent question is: did either of you buy them Mick?

no Matt, we left them where they were. haha
might get a few next week but there's another shipment of gear from Kamphol to my mates shop, so i might just wait to see what Neil has first.
