Hi all,

Thought you might like to see a few pics of the beautiful L. macrochir that came in about a month ago. They are currently still on the supplier's list under the 'Borneo High Body Cave Loach' name tag, so keep an eye out for them.

(Apologies for the scratches on the glass)

The loaches in this batch are all between 2" and 2.5" TL. It seems the longer they are, the deeper the body towards the head end. This is definitely a photophobic species, which makes photographing them very tricky!

yes we have them up north as well, like Jim has said it's a bizarre looker and personally not to my taste.
they're in at BAS if any of the northern lads fancy them.

Do you know if this fish is a true cave dweller?
If so, its ancestors have not been in the caves long enough to lose their eyes.

i'm sure Andy mentioned they were found in the deepest part of the water and not in a cave.
the best to tell us would be Nonn or Kamphol.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I think they are wonderful, and I wish I had tank space for some.
