Mystery Pangio (anguillaris?) ID help!

Greetings,

I received a shipment of aquarium plants, and with the plants came two passengers:

Picture 1 and picture 2

Could they be Pangio anguillaris? What do you guys 'n gals think?

These guys are real survivors, as the plant shipment was sent to me on Thursday, and I got my hands on it on Friday morning. As I was in quite a haste (had a gig at a music festival that afternoon) I quickly added the plants to my aquarium and just left the plants' plastic bags on a table. Fast forward to Saturday noon (it was a good show, and the after party was equally nice), I decided to clean up the bags. One was empty, and the other one had a bit of murky water left in it. Went to the bathroom to flush the bags and suddenly I noticed movement in the bag with the drop of water. There they were!

I have 7 Botia Kubotai and 4 Pangio Kuhlis in my tank, so I think these newcomers will join them as soon as I get a positive ID on 'em. The pictures are a bit blurry, but they're as good as I'll ever get with that camera...

Those lucky hitchhikers! Glad you saw them. I have several -- I find them in P. oblanga tanks. They are great fish. They come out for dinner.

I would say Pangio doriae.

See this thread: http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=13233&

Yours looks more like the golden "variant" of P. doriae

Thank you for the replies guys!

I moved the pair to a plastic cage-thingy in my aquarium, and indeed got some better pictures of them. Here you can see the overall color a lot better and the barbels and tail fin are clearly visible.

So the verdict is P. doriae "golden" or somethings like that then?
