i would say no as the tank is far to small for them, why not try sidthimunki instead, they stay reasonably small and would suit the tank size.

I had chain loaches before and were really nippy so gave them away and wondered if there woud be any other loaches suitable. I really like the polka dot loach but looks like the tank size is maybe too small, although some info on the web does say min size of tank to be 100 litres for this loach.

Belive me karl71,

In a 10 liter tank you can´t grow a Platy. I would sugest 200 liter for 5 grown up kubotai as they are fast swimming fish.

My first loaches were b. kubotai and i kept them in a 30"/29 US gal. tank for about 8 months before I found this site and learned more about them. they're now in a 4'/75 gal. tank with several others and they are obviously stunted. The new fish have outgrown them by an inch! I won't keep botias in less than 4' tank.
have you looked at the hillstream loaches? Schisturas maybe??

Where loaches, and many other fish, are concerned aquarium volume is not always the primary factor when considering stocking. Footprint is also important, and even if your tank contained 200 litres but was only 80cm long x 35cm wide it would still be too small for your desired choice.

If you look hard enough you will often find information on the internet that will correlate with the decision you wish to make, doesn't make it right though. Much of the information is assumed and not always correct.

I use Loaches Online for much of my research, which helped with the answer that I gave you over on PFK.
