Rough week. RIP Beauforti

My one and only Beauforti recently died. I purchaced him in summer of 1995 and he died july 26th 2009. He was in great health condition and it was my first fish death that I have felt a deep loss. Reason for death: He got jammed between the large acrylic tube and the tank's back wall. After his death, I felt the need to get more fish so I went ahead and purchased 3 striadas and 5 more clown loaches.
One of the baby clown gave me a clue to how the Beauforti got stuck. One day while watching the baby clowns try to enter the turbo tube I noticed that a current from some of the water that exited the tube forced the fish between the pipe and the tank's back wall. The problem is that the pipe was not parallel to the back wall and it made a tapering gap. Due to the strong current, the baby clown was unable to back out of the gap and was only able to move forward into the tapering space. I observed this for about 10 minutes until the clown started to breath rapidly then he began to sit still but in a "about to give up life way". I had to watch this to make sure of the problem. I immidiately switched off the pump and moved the pipe so that he was able to swim out. He was in a trance for a bit. I have recently made a brace that fixed the problem by holding the pipe up off the floor and 1/2 inch off the back wall. There has been no more cases of any fish being stucked. What a price to pay.
