Loach ID?

Post by Beta » Thu Aug 06, 2009 1:35 pm

Collected from a small stream in Kallidaikurichi, a village on the banks of the river Tamaraparani in Southern India.
Difficult to photograph as it dives into the sand once the lights are on. I suspect this is a juvenile as it is only around 2 inches long.

Stunning little fish

Looks similar in ways to Nemacheilus elegantissimus
