I miss my kuhlis

Yep, I'm on vacation, but calling the office every day to check with my VERY patient and incredibly kind coworker who is fish-sitting my tank while I'm off. (Testing the ammonia level and feeding.)

I'm having a great time -- kayaking, going to movies, swimming, lounging, enjoying the affection of my various housepets -- and I can't help it; I miss my kuhli loaches, and I'm worried about them. I know they're in good hands, but the best hands for my kuhlis are MY hands :)

It's almost an hour's drive to the office (when I go to work, I take the bus), but I'm driving in tomorrow morning just to do a 20% water change and then come right home, so they'll be all set to go the whole weekend unsupervised, and I'll have peace of mind.

Only here does this sort of obsessive behavior not draw snickers. (Uh, you're NOT snickering, right??)

We're not snickering at all and we completely understand. But do enjoy your vacation!

I was thinking the same thing. You found the right forum. We are all obsessed with/love our fish. I was in Germany for two weeks and all I could think of was my poor fish.

OK, it ended up being a 25% WC and I took out about half the remaining gravel in anticipation of removing all the gravel on Monday and replacing it with sand (I'll go in an hour early.)

Everybody's OK, I even counted all six kuhlis at one time :)

Ammonia's fine, pH is fine, filters & heater are working well, and the whole system seems to be functioning, well, swimmingly
