Skunk Loaches

I have had them before but they were in a species tank and were happy to be that way. I had them for a long time and had an accident with a heater(I suspect the cat turned the controller on the wall up).
now I have the opportunity to get some more and was wondering if there is anything I can keep with them. They are tiny right now, will be in a quarantine tank for at least a month then into a 55g . I know they can be brats so I thought maybe danios or something along that line. Suggestions please

Yes they can be nippy and harass the other fish.
I would not put Danios with them. Most Danios are cooler water fish. (low 70s F or low 20s C)

Thanks I've seen the profile before and have experience keeping them and have always kept them in a species tank:) I really don't want to put other loaches with them just somethong to keep the upper reaches of the tank a little busy.

Some of the Danios are recommended for a wider range of temps but I was just using them as an example of the type fish I was interested in.

Hi Butterfly, sorry to hear about that , Cats can be quite spiteful , and if denied a fish meal are likely to boil your fish just for the hell of it !
It might pay to get some kind of guard for your switch so the Cat wont be able to get its paws onto anything else .

Yes I learned my lesson. The heaters I have left with external temp controls are taped so the knob can't be accidenatlly moved. I had had them for a long time and even moved and had them shipped to me. So I really miss them.
