I got a group of Cobitis paludica from Matt who is also a member of LOL

I picked them up from a friends house but when I got them home from I had lost one and one was looking a little poorly (got stuck in a huge tailback caused by an accident :( ), I got them into their own tank and after a few days most had picked up but a couple of the adults were starting to loose weight which I thought was sorted with levimasole. Unfortunately 4 of the juveniles and two adults didn't pick up and I lost them :(

Now for the good bit, when I decided to move the remaining fish into the rivertank to give them more space etc I caught the adults straight away but soon realised something wasn't right as I had too many fish, that's when I realised the size difference and realised that they had actually spawned :o

The pics I took when I moved them were rubbish so I took a few more a few days ago when having a sort out in the rivertank:

I have to say that I am very impressed with the growth rate of these youngsters, they seem to be growing by the day :)

They're beautiful MD! Too bad for the losses but how amazing is it that they bred already?? Look forward to more pics.

Had to take my group back to the river when we moved back up to Barcelona. :( These are from the Rio de la Vega at Tarifa, the southernmost point in Europe no less!

Apparently you can find C. calderoni here in Catalunya so I'll do my best to locate some when we have time for a field trip. :)
