Recommended loaches?

Post by ridium » Mon Nov 16, 2009 3:12 pm

Hi all

Im currently looking to set up a small ( 4ft 150lt ) species tank, which loaches would you recommend i get? i was thinking a mix of Botia kubotai and Botia almorhae. I would like clowns but i think i dont have the room going by the posts. would the smaller species of Botia be ok? , im not fussed on the dwarf loaches but both myself and partner liked the yoyo's and kabotai's.

Any recommendations, hints, and advice would be greatly appreciated. tank dimentions would be 48" x 12" x 15".

I think that is a bit too small for the yoyos, but Kubotai, striata and similar sized Loaches would work.
That is a lot of floor space, so 2 species should be OK. Just stay with the smaller species so that you can get enough to make proper social groups of each.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

I've got 3 species in my 75 gal., kubotai, striata, and histrionica. If I had it to do again I'd stick to one species. They have very different personalities.
