Sids Fighting

Two of our little sids in the q tank are really fighting with each other, and it almost looks like they are eating each other's sides. When they are fighting they don't look "greyed out" as much as they lose their side marking completely, but are still all shiny and bright.

My husband took a photo but I am not sure it shows:

I've never kept sids, but this sounds like pretty normal loach behavior. I doubt that either of them will come to harm. They are just establishing who is the boss.

Not so common in sids but probably pecking order fight.

Hi,

my sids have the same behavior.
As Marcos said, probably a pecking fight.
Some of my sids , fight with Yoyo's at feeding times.

As Marcos said it is a pecking order fight, when mine get going they have in the past lost all of their colour and ended up pure silver. This behaviour is quite common in my tank mainly because there are well over 50 sid's in there now :D

I agree with the others, it's pecking order. If it's a quarantine tank you may benefit from adding some hiding places, if you haven't got any already.
