She's getting fat, and paying the price :(

One of my female B. striata is getting fat again, this time though she's been taking a beating as a result. There was a lot of scuffling last night amongst the B. striata and I think this particular loach came off worst when they were scuffling amongst all the rock work. She's acting normally, still eating and has maintained her alpha position so hopefully she will make a complete recovery.

She has similar damage to her left side which I was unable to photograph.

I'd probably treat with a light antibacterial med. I don't think Melafix is good for loaches but JBL Ektol crystals might be ok?

Don't medicate if it's only cosmetic blemishes like that. She'll be as good as new in about 1 or 2 weeks. Just keep the water quality excellent and things should be fine.

Thanks for the input Hokum :) Although, I agree with chefkeith on this occasion. I did a water change yesterday and I will up the regular water changes from every 4 days to every 2 days for the immediate future. I have a stack of Cherry Shrimp and two filter shrimp in the tank which are susceptible to most medications so I prefer to manage it with water changes.
