Well tonight I am going to pick up some new tanks and with one try this idea

I am correct in that the Dojos also need cooler, faster flowing water?

Dojo Loaches are indeed a cool water fish. They are not so demanding of high water flow like the hillstream species, but they will be fine with it. Not a problem. Much better than a tank with too little water movement.

I keep 3 dojo loaches and I've found they tend to lay in the low flow areas of the tank. I don't know what my gallons per hour are in this tank but it's very minimal.

mine will wiggle and play in the stream of water coming out of the canister filter spray bar, but generally they curl up somewhere with lower flow. i would definitely leave areas with less water current.
