Discus, Algae eaters with loaches?

Post by Sportsnutim » Tue Mar 09, 2010 2:04 pm

I have a 55 gallon tank with 6 discus and two algae eaters, live plants and enormous amount of snails. I have had loaches before and really like them they were yo-yo loaches how would two of these do with my other fish? I have eased up on feeding them but man those snails multiply. Thanks. Tim

Loaches might be a little too rambunctious. I have never read of a person keeping the 2 species together.

Have you tried vegetable matter like a slice of cucumber to bait them? They smell veggies and come running so to speak.

They weren't interested I may have to use Assassin snails, little slower but they keep them down; from what I have heard. Tim

Assasin snails will get the job done.
However it might take them very long to kill/devour most snails, they will get there.
Pardon my English, I'm from Holland....
